Cardiovascular disease is the second most common cause of late morbidity and death among cancer survivors ( 3). The number of patients with a history of cancer in the Unites States is believed to reach more than 26 million by 2040 ( 2). The life expectancy of patients with cancer is increasing as a result of recent advances in screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer ( 1).
